When it comes to family photos location is one of the most important aspects, but it can be difficult to know where the hot spots are. So I decided to reach out to my friend Amber Jordan at Amber Linn Photography to help us out! Amber knows all the local hot spots and is letting us in on her best locations for family photos in Palm Springs!
Before we get into Amber’s guest post I just have to brag on her for a minute. Amber and I met at the beginning of the year through Facebook! I had just started a new small business and Amber was hosting a local vendor event. I reached out to her about keeping me in mind for her next event and she asked if we could get coffee so we could chat more about my business. While we couldn’t set a date for coffee she invited me to a clothing swap she was hosting at her house! I attended and from then on we’ve built an amazing friendship. Besides being a talented photographer Amber has an amazing passion and heart for networking and supporting community. And not only networking but bringing together women and small businesses to create community! This lady right here truly has a heart of gold! Ok so now, let’s get into the good stuff! Welcome

Guest Spotlight: Amber Jordan from Amber Linn Photography
Often times we think of the desert as a lot of sand dunes and maybe the occasional palm tree and oasis. But I am here to tell you that if you are visiting or reside in this amazing Coachella Valley, you will embark on a plethora of beauty! Hi, my name is Amber and I am a natural light, portrait and wedding photographer (jeesh that’s a mouthful)! Jenna has asked me to let you in on a few of my secrets, so today I’m more than elated to give you my top spots locally that will help you ACE your family photos this year!
The 5 Best Locations for Family Photos in Palm Springs
1. Coachella Valley Preserve
You’re craving that “desert vibe”? Well, this place has everything minus camels and Egyptian pyramids (making desert jokes folks!!). But, please be aware of your surroundings, this place is a PRESERVE so please pack up what you bring and don’t litter or take anything from this place with you. Also, this is mother nature at it’s finest so there is a need for you to know that they’re snakes and lots of critters that live here
2. La Quinta Cove Trails
Majestic mountain views and easy terrain right smack dab in the middle of desert sage bush… one of my all time favs is the La Quinta Cove

3. Ironwood Park in Palm Desert
Now, this is a hidden gem (not to be confused with Ironwood Country Club)! You get a well-maintained park, lush trees, and grass and if you go to the back there’s a beautiful wood and iron bridge in a desert – can’t lose with backdrops like these during your family photos!
4. The Palm Springs Windmills
I’m going to give you a HUGE and helpful tip, park at the Amtrak station off of Indian. DO NOT PULL over on a soft shoulder, you will get stuck in
5. La Quinta Civic Park
You cannot go wrong here, it’s almost impossible to take bad pictures here. You have mint green pops of color, beautiful lawns and trees, gazebos and pretty tiled walls on the city buildings. Beware of the ducks, they will always think you have food and try to be “your friend” ahem. haha!
I have tons and tons of locations out here but today these will just have to do! If you’d like to see more of where I like to “shoot” feel free to follow me on Instagram or like me on Facebook.
